In the course of the Energy Strategy 2050 and the associated federal targets for reducing fossil fuels (decarbonization), the rapid expansion of renewable energy generating systems (EGS) is of central importance. In the event of an energy surplus compared to self-consumption at decentralized EGS >150 kW (PV systems, wind turbines, battery storage, CHP units, etc.) and a resulting threat of grid overload at the feed-in point, the distribution grid operator is obliged to maintain the quality of voltage and frequency within the specified guidelines by regulating active and reactive power.
